We will be hosting 2 community forums (morning and evening) on behalf of the WA Department of Communities for their Women’s Voices – 10 year Strategic Plan to achieve gender equality in WA. We are keen to engage with as many women as possible, from all walks of life in each town.
The community forums are to seek feedback on matters relating to:
1. Health and wellbeing (including access to health; mental health services)
2. Safety and Justice (focusing on sexual harassment and domestic violence)
3. Economic Independence (including barriers such as access to childcare, training opportunities etc.)
4. Leadership (at community, industry and LGA level)
The feedback from these forums will go back directly to the Department of Communities and the Office of Minister Simone McGurk . The RRR Network wants to take a solutions based approach and we seek your community’s input to outline the, often unique, challenges faced by WA women living outside of the metro area. We will report back on the changes your community would like to see to remove the barriers to women’s full social and economic participation.
In each town we will also host a RRR Member and Friends sundowner that we would love you to be a part of. We plan to host a similar range of visits to the north of state later in 2019.
