Keynote speaker Nkandu Beltz:
Nkandu Beltz is an ambitious and hardworking young lady who has forged ahead with her dream to build, own and operate a first-class mining operation, using world-class technologies by bringing industry leaders and entrepreneurs together to create mines of the future. By doing so, she and her team are creating jobs both directly and indirectly for thousands of people.
Nkandu is a dynamic inspirational leadership speaker who has hosted one of the world’s largest conference on happiness and its causes and shared the stage with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Dr John Demartini, Ruby Wax, Bob Brown and many thought leaders. All her speeches are inspired from her life experiences and strongly encourage the audience to embrace the spirit of Ubuntu, an African philosophy that describes the oneness of humanity. This philosophy was practiced by Nelson Mandela, Ubuntu — “I am because we are.” Nkandu has the unrivaled knack of stirring listeners to action. We all have personal experiences to drive motivation from but not all of us are blessed with the power of words.
Keynote Address Robyn Newbury
Robyn Newbury is a Farm safe advocate and a first responder. When her neighbour Gayle Shann Lost her arm in a drilling accident Robyn was the first responder. Gayle Shann may not have survived her horrific injuries if her neighbour Robyn Newbury had not been a trained nurse. Robyn took instruction from the Flying Doctor service that was not able to reach the property for two hours. It was her courage and resourcefulness that won the day, with help from Gayle who never lost the will to live.
Speaker Jess Edwards
AKA ‘Jillaroo Jess’ has been writing and sharing her stories to the online world since 2012. She’s a road train driving, cattle wrangling, snake handling, horse riding can-do-cowgirl with a passion for showing the ‘real’ side of Agriculture. With a special interest in media and experience in TV and radio this makes for an interesting journey. She has worked with the likes of Qantas, and even travelled to Hollywood with Kader Boot Co. She is determined to be a positive role-model to young people – especially young women.
Speaker Kim Storey
Have you ever searched in google for “what does a farmer look like?” Well Kim Storey did and all she found were old men with beards, wearing overalls and holding a pitchfork! Kim’s a farmer and she certainly don’t look like that! As a photographer, Kim wanted to put together a beautiful coffee table book of photographs to show people exactly who farmers are and what we really look like! From veggie growers to wool producers, cattle graziers to oyster farmers there are so many different people and industries that can fall under the banner “farmer”. Kim has travelled across Australia, gathering people’s stories and will now share her story with us.
Speaker Karin Stark
Karin currently works as General Manager at ReAqua, a national solar pumping business. Her international and professional history combines 17 years of engagement with communities around contemporary environmental issues. Karin has a passion for renewable energy in agriculture, living on a cotton farm herself. It’s this passion which helped drive the installation of a 500kW solar diesel hybrid pumping system in September 2018, the biggest in the country. She previously worked for NSW State Government where she established the Solar Irrigator”s Working Group to bring together farmers, industry representatives, peak bodies and other organisations to encourage discussions on energy use in the irrigation sector.
Comedian Famous Sharron is very famous for nothing at all. She’s fabulous, funny and unforgettable. Famous Sharron has won multiple awards, been on every TV channel in Australia, shared the news desk on ABC; been featured on Destination WA, WA Weekender, Today Show, Sunrise, and spotted in The West, TV Week and Elle Magazine.
Famous Sharron has helped countless celebrities get more famous and she will weave her magic with our 2019 WA Rural Women’s Award finalists as discovers what makes them famous.
Speaker Frauke Bolten-Boshammer
Frauke Bolten-Boshammer is the founder of Kimberley Fine Diamonds, home to one of the world’s largest collections of Argyle pink diamonds. Born in Germany, Frauke migrated to Kununurra in the remote Kimberley region in 1981. She has had a rich life full to tragedy and triumphs. Frauke is credited for not only pioneering an industry, but for putting the tiny outback town and its precious diamonds on the map.
